Ephesians: Growing in Christ and Displaying Him to All

Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: Ephesians: The Church's Identity and Mission Topic: Church Passage: Ephesians 1:15–1:23

Ephesians 1.15-23: Paul was overwhelmed in worship last week as he shared about the great purposes of the Father in Christ, which are mediated to us through the Holy Spirit. His doxology is also great doctrine for us to know, but Paul now moves to his prayer for the church. It is one thing for us to know intellectually what Paul has shared, but if it doesn’t impact our life it is useless. Paul loves the church and He loves what God is doing in Ephesus and the surrounding region and he continues to pray for them to grow to have an intimate relationship with God. He also wants them to know how God’s calling, inheritance and power impacts their life daily. This is important because the church is to put on display the glory of Christ to all. May we grow more intimately with the person and work of Christ each day, so we may truly embody all that He is to a broken and lost world.
