Our Elders

The Responcibility of Elders

The New Testiment indicated that the church is to be led by a plurality of godly leaders under the oversight of elders (1 Peter 5:1-4). The elders of The Ridge are members of the body who continually evaluate the teaching ministry of the church and review major ministry decisions and strategic initatives. They use thier wisdom, discernment and shepherding gifts (through the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit) to ensure the church remains on a true course biblically. Scripture indicated that the decision-making authority in the church rests with the elders (Acts 20:28, Heb. 13:17). The elders protect and promote the vision of The Ridge, as the staff directs the ministries of the church. 

We believe that elders are called to shepherd the church in these eight areas:

RULE: oversee the church (Acts 20:28)
ADMINISTRATE: handle the church finances (Acts 11:27-30)
DIRECT: lead the church's affairs (1 Tim. 5:17)
INTERPRET: make decisions on doctrine and church matters (Acts 15)
ENLIST: appoint and ordain members to specific minstries (Acts 15:22, 1 Tim 4:14)
CORRECT: admonish or lead out in church discipline (1 Thess 5:12)
PROTECT: keep watch over the church (Heb 13:17)
MODEL: set the example (1 Peter 5:2) 

Our Current Elders

Kevin Culver Kevin joined The Ridge in 2015 and became an Elder in 2018. Prior to joining The Ridge, he served many years as a teacher\leader. He has a passion to help develop mature followers of Jesus. Kevin has worked in the computer industry for over 40 years. He and his wife of twenty years, Lilia, have two daughters, four sons and eight grandchildren. Contact Kevin Culver
CJ Cunniff Contact CJ Cunniff
Greg Crow Greg and his wife Joda met at The Ridge 30 years ago and have a son, daughter and daughter-in law. Greg and Joda lead a lifegroup and serve in the Children's ministry - they cherish the opportunity to see God at work in children as they grow into Christ following adults. Graham Hagood Contact Graham Hagood
Brendon Lockette Brendon began serving as Elder at The Ridge in 2021. Since joining the church in 2018, Brendon has served as a Life Group leader alongside his wife and as a leader for The Ridge Student ministry. Prior to The Ridge, he has been a part of a variety of churches with differing cultures and sizes and has a desire and passion to serve where there is a need. Brendon has been married to his beautiful bride, Kailee, since 2016 and has two sons and a daughter. Contact Brendon Lockette
