Contentment, A Rare Jewel
Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: Live Free Topic: Contentment Passage: Philippians 4:10–20
Philippians 4.10-20: To live free is to learn, practice and experience the rare jewel of Christian contentment. Contentment can simply be defined as being satisfied or having peace or happiness. The world would definitely put a different twist on what that means. Christian contentment has been defined by one as being ‘soul rest’. It is satisfaction, peace, assurance and a sense of well-being that is cultivated by pursuing the right things. The apostle Paul is one who knew this ‘soul rest’ or this contentment very well. Today we look at what lies behind the fruit of such contentment that is so rare today and how contentment and discontentment impacts us in our daily living.
