Too often in life we turn to other things or people to be our Messiah, to save us.  We turn to those things for our security, our shelter, and protection thinking they can save us and give us the life we are looking for.  We have seen in Isaiah where such thinking gets us, as we have seen a people drowning in their attempts to make a life for themselves without the Lord.  Isaiah 28.15 says, For we have made falsehood our refuge and we have concealed ourselves with deception. Today, in Isaiah 4, we see the Messiah we need who can give us the life that we cannot make ourselves or find anywhere else.
