Amazing Truth of the Gospel

Speaker: Scott Berthel Series: Gospel in Life Topic: Gospel Passage: 1 Corinthians 3:16–26

The ancient Athenian general and statesman, Aristides, once wrote of the city of Corinth that there was a “wise man” on every street who thought he had the answers for the world’s problems.  While the modes of communication would obviously look different to Aristides if he were to visit our present day, he would recognize the “wise people” on television, blogs, social media, etc. who are ready and willing to share their remedies for the world’s ills.  And just like the ancient Corinthians, we remain prone to align ourselves with and give loyalty to individuals we think have the right answers.  As we consider 1 Corinthians 3:16-23 this morning, we’ll discover what happens to the body of Christ when allegiance to individuals displaces the amazing truth of the Gospel.
