The Gospel and Work

What was your first job?  Maybe it was as a waiter or waitress, a baby sitter or a lawn care expert.  Have you ever thought about what Jesus’ first job was?  He was a carpenter.  He had a blue collar job for many years before He transitioned into full-time teaching, preaching and healing and eventually died on the cross.  Jesus came to be what Adam failed to be; a perfect image bearer of God.  Just like Adam, Jesus was given a job to do.  He came to show how to be image bearers, even in our work.  Today, we fix our eyes on Jesus (the perfect image bearer) and will see how gospel faith impacts our work.
