The Tongue
Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: Table Talk Topic: Self Control Passage: James 3:1–12
James 3.1-12: The human body is made up of many muscles. Some say we have 640 to 840 of them with differing functions. We use our muscles each day in many different ways. We often even tend to our muscles specifically by working out and disciplining our bodies. But there is one muscle that we often neglect to discipline: the tongue. James tells us that no one can tame the tongue. It is small, but its impact is great. So, how are we disciplining the most powerful muscle in our body? James today gives us encouragement to control our tongues. It is an unceasing effort, but what we say is a big deal for it reflects our spiritual identity and maturity. So, let us discipline the tongue.
