Gratitude: Grace, Gratitude and the Glory of God

Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: Gratitude, an essential guardian of the soul Topic: Gratitude Passage: 2 Corinthians 4:5–4:5

Over the next three Sundays we are going to look at the importance of gratitude and how it is an essential guardian to our soul. We have received an indescribable gift from God in Christ Jesus. We are thankful to God for His gift of salvation. Paul speaks of this indescribable gift saying, For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich (2 Corinthians 8.9). We thank God for His grace in saving us and now for His continued grace in the life and ministry He has given each of us in seeing the grace of God spread to others. Such spreading of the grace of God causes thanksgiving to arise from us and the entire church and abounds to honor and glory given to God. As we look deep in the text today, may our understanding of God’s grace and the spreading of it cause gratitude in our hearts with the ultimate aim being for God’s glory.
