Sacred Psalms: Two Persons, Two Ways and Two Destinies

Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: Sacred Psalms Topic: Discipleship Passage: Psalm 1:1–1:6

Psalm 1: As we continue our series in the Psalms today, we look at the first Psalm. In this familiar Psalm we see two paths of life that are open to people, as the righteous and the wicked are contrasted. The Psalm declares what true happiness looks like. It is the life lived according to the Word of God. This truly is the path of flourishing. The Psalmist compares this way with the way of the wicked that ends in destruction. Key to this Psalm is obedience to the Word of God, so that we can become the godly person that God desires us to be instead of living a wasteful life.
