Ephesians: Amazing Grace

Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: Ephesians: The Church's Identity and Mission Topic: Grace Passage: Ephesians 2:1–2:10

Ephesians 2.1-10: In our beginning weeks through Paul’s letter to Ephesus, we have seen the goodness of God in what He has provided in Christ through the Holy Spirit to make the church. As, the church we have been blessed with everything we need in Christ and we are to grow more and more in our relationship with God, understanding who we are in Christ and what is available to us in His power to live out God’s mission. Today, Paul wants those who are in Christ to remember the great power of the gospel, truly amazing grace. In doing so, Paul gives us a very honest and revealing diagnosis of humanity. This is who everyone is outside of Christ, even though we don’t like it or want to admit it. Paul shows us then God’s rich mercy, what He did to make His church by reconciling men to Himself by His grace through the atoning work of Christ. Because of the power of the gospel we once walked the walk of death, but now walk the walk of life. Today’s text is beautiful explaining who we were outside of Christ, what God has done to make us alive and how we now live and experience His grace.
