Stand Firm in the Grace of God
Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: I Believe Topic: Endurance Passage: 1 Peter 5:1–5:14
1 Peter 5.1-14: Today we close out our journey through Peter’s first letter. As he concludes he exhorts the first century Christians and us today to stand firm in the grace of God. A true believer perseveres and endures to the end by the grace of God. To help the church stand firm in the grace of God Jesus has given leaders to keep watch over them that they may endure to the end. Peter exhorts the elders to continue eagerly in their faithful service and the entire community of believers to be covered in humble service to each other. Selfishness and pride will stifle any work of God in one’s life and the church as a whole. So, we are encouraged today to stand firm in the grace of God by humbly accepting the care of leaders, humbly serving others and humbly walking with God. Be encouraged today, for our Chief Shepherd has dominion over all forever and He is for you, His Bride.
