Matthew: Jesus, the Victor

Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: Matthew's Gospel: The King and His Kingdom Topic: Kingdom of God Passage: Matthew 12:22–12:32

Jesus is our great Victor!  He has conquered sin, death and the enemy.  This was made possible through His death and resurrection.  Yet people today, both Christians and non-Christians, choose to live lives of defeat and destruction.  We live in a time of great deception both outside and within the church.  Too many today limit and deny the power of Christ.  Todays Scripture text reveals to us the power of Christ in healing a man of demon possession.  This healing becomes a point of great controversy for the religious leaders of this day, so much so that they attribute the work of Christ to the work of Satan.  This great blasphemy is not too far removed from the response of the Western church today to the work of the Holy Spirit.  We have replaced to often the reality of a spiritual world with Western rationalism and naturalism.  The power of the kingdom of God is still at work today just as it was in the first century.  The work of the Spirit is still happening.  Today's prayer is for spiritual freedom.  This comes by the truth of God.  The truth sets us free.  May we believe Jesus, the Truth and experience freedom.
