January 29 | God Cherishes Life
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.  By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”  John 13.34-35

Reading:  John 13

The last supper, the dealings of Christ surrounding this meal and especially following it displays the great love of Jesus.  Jesus loved His disciples even though one would betray Him, another deny Him and all at one point would desert Him for a time.  Jesus’ love was patient.  He also longed for His disciples to love each other.  By Christlike love for the church and for those outside the church (even your enemies), you will be distinguished as belonging to Jesus, as one who follows Him.  Let us love like Jesus.

Prayer:  Lord, Your love is deep, wide, long and high.  Help me to know the fullness of Your love.  As your love transforms my life increase the capacity of love that I have for others.  Help me to love others as you have loved me.
