January 12 | Pursue Jesus
“And do not get drink with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit.” Ephesians 5.18

Reading: Ephesians 5

Matthew Henry once said, “Wherever there is true grace there is a desire for more grace.”  This is what Paul meant here in Ephesians 5.18.  The Spirit of God does not indwell us and then just chill.  He is living and active.  He is addicting and we want more of Him.  This is evidence that you have Him living in you.  The pursuit of Jesus is not optional, even after you are saved.  Once we taste true grace we want more and more of it.

Prayer:  Lord, thank you for your grace.  Thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit.  I want to be filled with the Spirit of God more and more each day.  Give me that desire.  I want to be a God-aholic!  Help me to obey You and to imitate you in all I do.
