Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1-4

As we know, when we see the word, “Therefore” we have to find what it is referring to and in this case I believe it is referring to the teaching from the first seven chapters of Romans which proclaims in a “nut shell”: The Holy Spirit gives us life that comes from Christ Jesus and sets us free from sin and death. Therefore we have no condemnation, no judgement, if we are in Christ.

You see, sin separates us from God as He is holy and just. Our sin separates us from Him. God loves us so much that He sent His own Son, Jesus. Jesus takes our sin, our judgement and give us His righteousness; therefore we have no condemnation.

Paul tells us in Ephesians that by grace we have been saved through faith; and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

If you have not already accepted this gift of salvation, we urge you to accept it today.
