For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9

This verse reminds us of the Good News that Jesus came because of God’s great love for us. Christ took our sin upon Himself and gave us a free gift of His righteousness (Philippians 2.6-8; 2 Corinthians 5.21). Praise be His name, all we have to do, is accept this free gift.

As we continue through this Advent season, let us celebrate the Good News, His coming, the birth of the Lord, Jesus Christ with seasons of prayer, fasting and repentance as this season is filled with anticipation, hope and joy. May we celebrate Advent not only by thanking God for Christ's first coming to Earth as a baby, but for His presence among us today through the Holy Spirit. May we also be in preparation and anticipation of Christ’s final coming at the end of time.
