Sacred Psalms: Psalm 27

Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: Sacred Psalms Topic: Courage Passage: Psalm 27:1–14

Psalm 27:  Is God enough?  At the end of the day, if all you were left with is what you had with God would that be enough for you?  I want us to see in Psalm 27 that when God is our greatest love, and if knowing and pleasing Him is our highest pleasure, we will be transformed in both how we live (by faith) and how we pray. David has many adversaries and enemies that opposed Him.  He therefore speaks of stressful times and overwhelming circumstances.  This is life.  It is not easy, as we are faced with troubles, trials and adverse times.  In the midst of David’s problems we find Him deciding what is most important to him and that is His relationship to God.  David loves knowing and pleasing God.  It is the greatest delight to Him and it impacts his life and prayers.  May we truly “wait for the Lord, be strong and let our hearts take courage” in light of the encourage of this psalm.
