Acts 10.1-11.18: God wants us to be gospel-centric Christians. In today’s text, we learn from Peter what that fully means. Up until now there was an understanding that Jews were not to associate with Gentiles, but Jesus has come to lift those laws and remove any such barriers. As a result, Christians should never look down on a person of any race, ethnic groups, different culture or physical traits viewing them as unfit for the gospel. The gospel is for all and God is preparing people all around the world to seek Him. God has called us all to be ready to share the gospel to all and to support the work of carrying the gospel to the nations. For some that means be willing to go to the nations. For us all may we be cleansed from racial slurs, ethic put downs and all alienating behaviors. The gospel is for all and may we be loving instruments that bear it to the world. On this Father’s Day I cannot think of a better trait than being a gospel-centric Dad that is non-alienating, but loving all with the gospel.
