The Mission of God - Ready, Set, Go

Acts 8.25-40: As we have been taking a journey through the book of Acts since the turn of the New Year we have seen God’s mission to spread His kingdom reign through a new society called the church, who are called to be witnesses of God’s Son, Jesus to their city and beyond to the remotest parts of the world. Philip is one of Christ’s disciples who has been called to God’s mission and to show the presence of the Kingdom of God through His life. Philip is a forerunner, going where no one has ever been with the gospel both directly and indirectly. He is a pioneer, a missionary, a lay-evangelist, though he never left his own country. Philip is a faithful witness. That is what Christ wants of His church. He wants you and I to love our neighbor and the nations with the gospel. May God wake up His church and instill in us the passion that we see in the first century church to faithfully share the gospel, as His empowered witnesses.
