The Body of Christ: What is Your Part
Series: Standalone Sermon, Not Part of a Series Topic: Church Passage: 1 Corinthians 12:12–12:26
1 Corinthians 12 may be a familiar passage to you. The simple metaphor of us being the body of Christ carries a tremendous weight in how we should be working together as a single unit. One of the great things about Paul’s words to the church in Corinth is the idea that every member has its part. Just as each member of the body has a role the same is true of Christ’s body, the Church that He has redeemed. Have you ever stopped to think about what your “part” is? Just as there are infections that hinder the growth of the body there are also things that can obstruct the unity and growth of the church. At times this deterrent can be easily identified but so difficult to control.
