Ephesians: The Power of the Gospel to Create God's Diverse Family

Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: Ephesians: The Church's Identity and Mission Topic: Church Passage: Ephesians 2:11–2:22

Ephesians 2.11-22: Last week, we heard about the power of the gospel to change one’s nature from being dead to being made to come alive with Christ. The message of the gospel is truly amazing grace to change one’s life forever, but as we hear today the gospel is not just about individual salvation. There is more to the beautiful story of the gospel. As today’s text reveals, salvation brings us not just in union with God, but also in union with a new people that God is forming, the church. God reconciles not only the redeemed to Himself, but to others who have been redeemed. Paul wants us to understand Christ as our peace, not only providing peace with God, but also peace among others, whether Jew or Gentile, bringing them into one body to God.
